I was trying to cover the different views that were expressed on the list, and I think that the woman who said this was pointing out a potential risk of successful cases like the one mentioned above. Whether she's right or wrong, I don't know, but I personally think that if an employer breaks a law meant to protect an employee, that employer should be sued. I am personally tired of the laxity in general law enforcement here, where laws are seen as a "recommendation," but if you break them, there are no consequences.
