Here is an interesting service that allows people to connect to the web via…their fax machines! It’s mostly targeting seniors, and I have to say that despite my dislike of faxes I think this service is brilliant:

Forget a scanner, I use my camera to photograph documents and then email ‘em.

@audrey I know. I think that there are too many industries in Israel that still LOOOVE their fax machines. It will be a while before they move into the 21st century of communications.

How true. But try to work with an antiquated healthcare system without a fax. True story: A major urban medical center cannot FAX a doc to Bezeq’s electronic fax to mail (153) service. Sad but true. As a patient, that really tries your patience. Enough to give in and dust off the fax!

I also can’t understand fax lovers – having never had one and I think only forced to send 1 or 2 in my life time. I even wrote up a fax survival guide for people living in Israel http://www.thebigfelafel.com/stuff-israeli-people-like-9-faxes-and-a-survival-guide/
