Hi Penelope - It's an honor to have you stop by!

Your advice is really good. That's what it's about - realizing things will never be totally under control, and just leaving some things unfinished. The truth is, that even if I work 24 hours a day, I'll never finish everything I want to accomplish. There's actually a really good Jewish saying that addresses this that I just thought of:

לא עליך המלאכה לגמור, ולא אתה בן חורין להבטל ×ž×ž× ×”.

My rough translation - it is not upon you to complete all of the work; however, you are also not free to be idle and not do it.

Meaning, we shouldn't feel like it is our responsibility to complete all work that needs to be done in the world. However, just because we can't finish it, doesn't mean that we are free to stop working on it altogether. We have to strike a balance. And anyways, part of the work that we are commanded to do is to take care of ourselves.

Alright, that's it. I'm going to start exercising. Tomorrow :)

Hi, Miriam. Thanks for linking to Brazen Careerist.

I spend six months having weeks like the one you describe so well in this post. Then I realized that there will be no day when I have my work under control enough to go to the gym. So, I've started leaving work unfinished and going to the gym and dealing with the consequences when I get home.

And someone told me that the people who are wildly successful are great at figuring out what doesn't need to be done. So I tell myself manybe this is my moment :)
